NWS MOS products (Model Output Statistics) are statistically post-processed forecasts generated by the National Weather Service (NWS). MOS provides site-specific forecasts derived from numerical weather prediction models like GFS and NAM.
This page allows you to request the most recent MOS guidance over the past 24hrs for any location in the United States that the National Weather Service outputs.
Model Output Statistics (MOS) use statistics and observations to improve the accuracy of a numerical weather prediction model. MOS guidance reduces biases in the raw model output helping to provide more accurate forecasts.
Common forecast parameters included in NWS MOS products are:
While NBM (National Blend of Models) is a newer product, I will keep this page active until NWS no longer provides a way to ingest the data. Note that NAM is scheduled to be discontinued in 2026.
Fill out the form to your left or click the NWS MOS Form Options button at the top to open a modal with the form options.
To streamline future visits, click "Save This State" after a successful request. Your selected models and settings will be stored in a browser cookie and automatically loaded when you return.
Note: The "Save This State" button appears only after a successful data request.
All NWS MOS products are retrieved from NWS servers at scheduled update times. Note the following before referencing the below table for availability:
